Grosse-Île lobster fishermen are concerned about their safety.
Two hours before the opening of the season, many agrees that the water is too shallow and the acces to the harbour is too narrow and poses a threat of accident, especially when strong wind comes into play.
The president of the Association of Inshore fishermen, David Burke, amongst several Anglophone fishermen of Grosse-Île, voiced their concerns on the wharf, Sunday, an hour before leaving to set traps:
