Inshore fishermen association on last meeting of the marketing board
The president of the Inshore fishermen association, David Burke, talks about the last annual meeting of the marketing board for lobster. The representatives of the organization, representing all 325 lobster fishermen of the archipelago, talked about lowering the contribution from fishermen and also about the attempt to create a legal entity responsible of managing the annual crab allocation given to lobster fishermen. The marketing board stated that this particular project didn’t go through because of the lack of candidates to sit on the board of this new comitee. M. Burke explains why the members of the anglophone association did not volonteered to engage right away in that project:
